It was awesome, especially for me as a beginner then… 2010 sees the dividend dipped a little bit but it still gladdens the heart and I was anxiously waiting for 2011 bounty and as anticipated it landed. 0.35k representing an 8% divyield at this dire moments, its however painful that I will not be getting the dividend I have never missed this year, I actually tried to play a smart one on the market by selling all my holdings some months back in which I bought FCMB with the proceeds, when I later sold FCMB after about 50% capital appreciation I sought after my UNIVERSITY PRESS back, I must confess it was an onerous task but thank God for my stockbroker whom I know is the BEST in the world, she told me point blank on how scarce it was then but fortunately an inhouse member wanted to sell of his or her few holding an all she will do is just a transfer from the person to me, I was excited as I got a few units @N3.3 but as the Oliver twist that I am when it comes to buying stocks, I was so desperate for more and I had to increase my price boundary to N3.5 but I got none. I gave up at that point as I will not want to go beyond N3.5 limit.

                When the result was the announced, I had mixed feelings, but in all I made a tough decision to sell off the little holding as the dividend income value amount to nothing to be waiting for, putting into consideration the 10% withholding tax that will also be deducted from it without forgetting the effect of marking down the dividend from the stock price later and above all 25% capital appreciation on the little amount should serve as a solace. Did I say solace?
